Wladyslaw "Adzik" Sendecki


iA piasnist. He was born in 1955 in Gorlice. He learned to play the piano at the Music School of Frederic Chopin in Krakow, and then continiued his music education at the Academy of Music in the same city. At the age of 15 he was already considered as a great interpreter of Chopin's music and traveled at the concert tour with the orchestra. Instead of classical music, however, he discovered jazz. He founded successful jazz-rock bands "Extra Ball" and "Sunship", with which he was invited to festivals all over Europe. Later he played, among others, with Polish Jazz Ensemble and Zbigniew Namyslowski.

In 1981 he emigrated to Switzerland and began his international career there, alongside such stars of jazz music as Randy Brecker, Joe Henderson and Klaus Doldinger. In the mid-90s he moved to Hamburg and became a member of the NDR Big Band. Together with Gerry Brown, Detlev Beier and Ingolf Burkhardt he founded the Hamburg Jazz Quartet. He is a member of the Burkhardt's quartet. He also worked with musicians such as Doldinger, Cobham, Coryell, Urbaniak, Lagrene, Pastorius, Marian and many others.

The artist is also known as a composer. In 2000 he composed 10-pieces suite for big band Anima Mundi - a musical journey from Africa through India and Japan to Europe, a meeting of musical cultures, which is unique in the jazz world.

In 2007 he released the first, after 20 years break, solo album – Piano.
